Is this deliberate or a continuity error? Because I can't really see Fred thinking this about a vampire.
This is deliberate. My assumption is that Harmony and vampires still have to take in air to talk. ;o)
I didn't actually catch the foreshadowing. Was I not reading closely enough?
It's okay, sweetie. I'm thinking that no one's getting it cause it's sort of a fluffy fic.
First, there's Fred's whole speech about coming out of her shell and how they've all been for there for her. Wesley reassures her that they'll always be there for her. This kind of alludes to his later understanding of Illyria. She also forgot how to be herself...how to interact with the world after she had been gone so long. This is sort of a vague reference to Illyria coming out of his/her shell and taking over Fred's body. Illyria also emerged after a long (albeit, longer period of time) and had trouble interacting with the world...it was foreign to her. It's probably a reach. *grins*
Second, Fred's fortune. While it applies to their sexual teasing, it also applies to Fred's change in the next episode... She undergoes massive changes in her bed and emerges as Illyria.
I guess my goal was to hint at the ominous without taking away from the fluff. :o)
Not to mention the apple which Eve gives to Angel in "Conviction," representing the corruptive nature of Wolfram & Hart, which Wesley and Fred escape by returning to their initial Edenic paradise, the Hyperion Hotel.
Now see...I didn't even think of that! :o) *nods* You've got a better memory for Angel season five than I do, and you give me more credit than is due, I think. *Ooo...an excuse to watch my DVDs again!*
The Hyperion! In season 5! Squee! This is so perfect, such a beautiful moment, as they realize where their true home is.
